Privacy policy
IN SHORT
The full policy follows. If anything below seems to say something different from this summary, the full policy applies.
1 Who we are, and how to reach us
1.1 Jeevanto is provided by Anubhav Tyagi (Jeevanto), Sector-66, Gurugram, Haryana 122102, India. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for your personal data: we decide why and how it is used.
1.2 For anything about your data, write to our Grievance Officer: Anubhav Tyagi, Founder, privacy@jeevanto.com. They're also the person to contact about your rights under the law.
1.3 For help with anything else: help@jeevanto.com. A person reads every message, and replies within 2 working days.
2 What this policy covers
This policy covers the Jeevanto app on iPhone and Android, the website jeevanto.com, and our emails to you. It explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.
3 What we collect
We collect only what Jeevanto needs to do what you ask. Here is each kind, and why.
A fingerprint that can't be reversed. To give the free months once per person, we keep a scrambled, one-way fingerprint of your email, your mobile number and your sign-in account. It can't be turned back into the address or number, and it's used for nothing else. We keep it even after you delete your account (section 10).
4 What we never collect or do
- We never keep the mail itself: only the facts that matter, each pointing to its source.
- We never sell your data, or share it for advertising.
- We never use your data to train AI, and we send it only through AI services set up so it doesn't train anyone's models (section 7).
- We never read your data ourselves, except as section 12 describes.
- We never send, change or delete anything in an account you've connected, on our own.
- We never act as you, or claim to be you.
5 Why we use it
We use your data only to:
- run Jeevanto for you: remember, remind, prepare, find, keep a lookout, and book, order, send or fill in when you say go;
- show you how much Jeevanto read, and from where;
- run your plan, bill you, and give refunds;
- keep your account and our systems secure, and find and fix problems;
- tell you about your account, your plan, and changes to these policies;
- meet our duties under the law.
We don't use it for anything else unless we ask you first.
6 Your consent, and taking it back
6.1 We ask for your consent in plain words, one purpose at a time, when it's needed: for example when you connect an account, switch on note-taking, or share something with your Circle. We never tick a box for you.
6.2 You can take any consent back, as easily as you gave it. Disconnect or pause an account in Settings. Switch a feature off. Stop sharing. Taking consent back doesn't undo what was done before, but from then on we stop, and we delete what we no longer need.
6.3 Some things we do without asking each time, because the law allows it: for example, keeping payment records for tax, or acting to protect your account's security.
7 AI, and what trains on your data
7.1 Jeevanto uses AI models to read, sort and suggest. We send AI requests only through two services, OpenRouter and Together AI, and we have set both to pass your data only to AI models whose makers don't train on it. That promise is between those services and the AI companies, under their terms; we rely on it, and we check our settings with them regularly. Your data is sent only to answer the request at hand.
7.2 The AI models these services pass requests to may include models made by Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Mistral and others. The list changes as models improve. We never send your data to an AI service any other way.
7.3 What Jeevanto works out about you stays in your Jeevanto. It shows you how it got there, and you can take it back. A pattern it notices in your habits waits for your yes before it's used.
8 Your Circle: what others can see
8.1 No one sees anything in your Jeevanto unless you say yes. Not your family, not the person who looks after you.
8.2 You choose what to share with each person, and you can take it back at any time. With a care-giver, you can share one note, certain notes, certain types of note, or all notes. A care-giver can change a note you've shared, but never delete it. You're told every time they do, and every change is recorded with who made it and when.
8.3 A care-giver can never see your passwords, pay with your money, change your settings or send a message as you.
8.4 Shared store logins stay inside a Family, are never bank or email logins, and the password is never shown to anyone.
8.5 Your recovery contact. If you choose someone to help you back in when you've lost your phone and your email at once, we keep the name you give them and the email or mobile number you give us for them, and the fact that they agreed. We use it only to ask them, to remind them once, and, if you ever ask them for help, to let them start your way back in and send them the digits to read out to you. They never see anything in your Jeevanto, and they can never act as you or spend anything. If they don't answer, the ask closes after 30 days and their details go with it. If they say no, their details are deleted at once. They're deleted too when you remove them, when they step down, or when you delete your account. Our security log records each recovery step, such as "started" or "stopped", never what anything said (section 10.2).
9 Who else handles your data
We share your data only with companies that help us run Jeevanto, and only what each needs. Each works under a contract that limits what it can do with your data.
We keep this list up to date, and change it here before we add a new service.
We also share data:
- when you ask us to: for example, when Jeevanto books on a site, it gives that site the details the booking needs, after you say go;
- when the law requires it: to a court, a regulator or the police, when a valid legal order requires it. We tell you, unless the law forbids it;
- if our company changes hands: the new owner must keep to this policy, and we'd tell you first.
10 How long we keep it
10.1 While your account is open, we keep what Jeevanto needs to help you, until you delete it or take it back.
10.2 When you delete your account, everything goes, straight away, and copies in our backups are gone within 7 days. Only these are kept:
- The fingerprint from section 3, so the free months are given once per person.
- Invoices and payment records, kept apart from the rest and no longer linked to your account, for as long as tax law asks: 8 years from the end of the financial year they belong to, under the Companies Act, 2013 (section 128). Then they're erased.
- A security log: when you signed in, from which device, and which actions were taken (for example "a note was changed"), never what anything said. It's kept for one year, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 require, so misuse can be traced. It's no longer linked to your name or email.
How long each of these is kept is set for the country you signed up in, and is shown here as it stands.
10.3 A data source you disconnect: what Jeevanto read from it is deleted, unless you choose to keep facts it already found.
10.4 If you ask us to keep something for a legal claim or a complaint, or the law requires us to, we keep it only for that, only for as long as needed.
11 Where your data is kept
Your data is kept in India. Some trusted services we use (section 9) handle parts of it abroad, under contracts that protect it to the standard this policy promises. Indian law allows this, except to countries the Government of India restricts, and we'll follow any restriction it sets.
12 How we protect it
12.1 Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. What you keep in Jeevanto is sealed with keys made on your phone. Your Vault can be opened only with those keys.
12.2 Access inside our company is limited to what's needed to run Jeevanto. No one at Jeevanto reads your content except:
- to help with a problem you've raised: only if you say yes in the app, only what that problem needs, and the permission closes by itself after a set time;
- for security or a legal order: approved by our founder, recorded, and you're told afterwards unless the law forbids it.
Every such access is recorded.
12.3 No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, section 17 says what we'll do.
13 Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- know what personal data we hold about you, and who we've shared it with;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, by deleting your account, or anything in it;
- take back your consent at any time (section 6);
- nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or can't use them yourself, in Settings → Privacy → Someone to act for you. They're told by email, and can act only after proof, such as a death certificate;
- complain to us (section 19), and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
Most of these you can do yourself, in the app, at any time. For the rest, write to privacy@jeevanto.com. We'll answer you within the time section 19 sets.
14 Google user data
If you connect a Google account, Jeevanto asks Google for only these permissions, and uses each only for the features you see in the app:
Jeevanto's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular:
- we use Google data only to provide and improve the features you see in Jeevanto;
- we don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't transfer it to anyone except as needed to run those features (the services in section 9), for security, or when the law requires it;
- no one at Jeevanto reads it without your permission, except for security or legal reasons (section 12);
- we don't use data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models, ours or anyone else's. When Jeevanto needs an AI model to read an email for you, the request goes through the services in section 7, only for that request, to models whose makers don't train on it.
How it's kept. Your Google sign-in permission (the token Google gives us) is sealed in our vault and is never shown to anyone. The facts Jeevanto keeps are sealed with keys made on your phone (section 12).
Taking it back. Disconnect Google in the app, under Settings → Connected accounts, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. From then on Jeevanto reads nothing more, and what it read is deleted unless you choose to keep facts it already found (section 10.3).
The same rules apply to data from Microsoft, Apple and any other account you connect.
15 The website and cookies
jeevanto.com has no trackers and no ads. A visitor who just reads the site gets no cookie. If you sign in on the site, it sets one cookie, just to keep you signed in. It goes when you sign out. Because this cookie is needed for the sign-in you asked for, and nothing else, we don't show a cookie banner.
The site picks up your country from your connection to show the right prices. It doesn't store it.
16 Children
Jeevanto is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data.
17 If something goes wrong
If a breach affects your personal data, we'll tell you without delay, in the app or by email. We'll say what happened, what it may mean for you, what we're doing, and what you can do to stay safe. We'll also report it to the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
18 Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when Jeevanto or the law changes. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Where it needs your consent, we'll ask for it again. Each version has a number and a date at the top.
19 Complaints
19.1 Write to our Grievance Officer, Anubhav Tyagi, at privacy@jeevanto.com. You'll hear from us within 24 hours, and a person will reply within 2 working days. If something needs putting right, we'll do it within 15 days at the latest.
19.2 If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
